Algae and Dr. Tims

Hello all, I’ve had really bad algae or diatoms or cyano for the past year. Something rust colored that’s all I know. I clean my tank and it comes back within a few hours. Tried everything - now on to Dr Tim’s! Can I run purigen and chemipure in my media basket while doing Dr Tim’s refresh/waste away? Thanks!

I'd try to figure out what's causing it before any additives. Parameters? RoDi?

I use RoDi from the fish store and parameters are Golden.

Your best bet is to use a microscope to confirm what you are dealing with. It could be dinoflagellates too.
