For this of you who do not clean the back or sides of your tanks and alloe coralline algae to grow, are you concerned with its effect on your silicone seals. I have some stubborn regular algae that is very hard to get off of the silicone just to return the next couple of days.
Do you feel this weakens the sealant?

I would be more concerned about damaging the seal myself trying to get algae off. I have a very thin line of algae around all my silicone that doesn’t get scraped because I’m terrified to puncture it with the razor blade.
