Algae? Bacteria? Dinos? Or what in cycling tank

Set tank up with:
previously live rock (been dry for about a year)
Dry sand

Went through a cycle, ammonia and nitrites spiked and zeroed out and nitrates are at about 40.

Diatoms appeared.

Then this stuff appeared. It is greenish brown, stringy, some of it has bubbles.

I collected some in a glass, shook it up, ran through a strainer, and it did not clump back up (water stayed clear).

Took some photos of it under the microscope.

Any suggestions of what it is?

Same thing is happening in my tank ,first month cycling , don't know what else should expect

Two types of cycles in my opinion

1. All substrates are hand cleaned and guided into compliance while cycle progresses. No ID required for any invader, removal by hand by lifting out the rock and specifically cleaning all that off keeps it clean. Diatoms, cyano, green hair algae included. Tank looks pristine always. Gets more coralline over time.

2. All natural mode only, whatever grows in the tank based on import and lights being too white and nutrients is what grows, could last a week could be a year, varies. No manual rock cleaning.

Truly that's how I see cycling with regards to tank invasions. Not sure what that is above but I'd go ahead and clean the whole tank of it if poss

Pretty normal for the cycling stage, no real need for worrying!

Thanks everyone! The tank looks much worse now; think there are several algae types growing.

This is my 14 year old daughters homeschool project and she has been extremely understanding and working through doing things the right (but slow lol) way.

No, it only got worse. We ended up tearing the tank down.
