Hi guys
Had red/green cyano cover most of my rocks about 6 months ago and dosing Hydrogen Peroxide completely rid my tank of it - 1ml per gallon each 12h.

Now since a month or 2 I'm getting Cyano and algae slowly coming back and this time it looks like they are in for good. Hydrogen Peroxide isn't doing anything. I vacuum most I can during water changes, but they come back about a week after. I'm running Purigen and Chemipure Elite on the sump, and ran Phosguard last week for 4 days.

Can you guys please take a look on the pictures below and let me know what I'm dealing with? Also if you know any battle plan, I appreciate. I noticed that coraline algae is struggling to thrive as there's no room on the rocks.

I'm trying to take a screenshot of my AI Hydra HD settings, but the app is acting up again.

Tank is about 1 year 3 months old, I try to keep nitrates around 10ppm, pH at 8.0, temperature at 79F.

Thanks!

What’s your Po4 at ?
How many and what kind of snails do you have ?

Po4 is at .25 or less. Just ran Phosguard and measured it again with an API kit, definetely under .25ppm.

I had 5 astrea snails since the start, but they all died along the first year. I still have 5 hermit crabs and 2 emeralds.

Is there any snail that would feast on the Cyano? Not even sure that is Cyano to be honest. It could be Spiruline algae

It’s not the cyano you want them to eat. It the stuff on the rocks that the cyano is feeding on.
Grab a bunch o snails IMO.
Turbans , turbos , and Astrias.
Maybe look at a tuxedo urchin.
Spirulina is a cyano bacteria.

That's interesting, the cyano did come up stronger after all the snails died. I will definetely grab some tomorrow. Do you think 5 is enough? It's a 90 gallon system

Try 12.

Added a package from Reefcleaners about a week ago, hope it helps... I got a package for 30 gallon as I thought the one for 90 would be too many snails. They are really really small though

You can try
Vibrant Liquid Aquarium Cleaner - 8oz - Reef Blend
