Started getting this stuff in my wife's 60 cube about a month ago after treating for spirulina. It blows off quite easily with a turkey baster. Any idea what it is?

Hair algae doesn't blow off like this does. It blows off almost like diatoms. It is brown turf like with bubbles covering the rocks. It hasn't grown on any coral.

Since the spirulina tank parameters are;
Kh- 8.4
Calcium- 450
Mag- 1350
Nitrates- .25
Phosphates-.02

Lighting- radion g3

Feeding- currently feeding once a day LRS fish frenzy. Prior to the outbreak was feeding pellets twice per day.

Dosing Kalkwasser with ATO

Skimmer- reef octopus rated for 150 gallons skimming on the dry side.

Been running phosphate remover and rox carbon for about a month now. Before that was not running either of these. Also running with filter sock.

If it blows off that easy I'm thinking of calothrix.
These species of Cyano often appear as a light slimy yet hairy/fuzzy nastiness that loosely attaches to your rock work.
Air bubbles are usually trapped while escaping the "algae".
Calothrix is a type of blue green algae that looks very similar to Dinos.
Remove the rock and scrub, and then fine tune with a toothbrush.
CUC that will go after the rest are as I know Chitons, Nerites.
You can also starve it out using a phosban reactor or a macro like chaeto to take down phosphate.
If you have a nitrate problem too, you can add more live rock or rubble to the tank or sump, do some more wcs, add macro and feed less.

Thanks @Diesel. I thought it might be another form of cyano since it came around the same time as the spirulina. The tank is coming down in a few months as I am combining both tanks into a 180 gallon. I guess I won't be using anything out of that tank.

Only on R2R my friend.
