I have notice some brown algae/bacteria recently in my 60g cube. I added about 8lbs of dry Marco rock a month or so ago and after doing so got cyano pretty bad. I used chemi clean and water changes and beat that after a week or so but now this had popped up. It also is growing on the new rock. My phos sits around .02-.05 and nitrates 8-12(trying to get a little lower) using a Hydra 26hd with aquatic life t5 hybrid. I've also been adding mocrobacter7 to try and help boost my bacteria on the new rock. Maybe Dino's? Let me know what you guys think.

From those shots looks like m ore cyano.
Does it blow off easy?
Does it grow with the light on and go away at night?

It doesn't seem like cyano to me. I just dealt with cyano and it was more of a red film and after a lot of water changes and chemi clean I'm pretty sure it's all gone. I'll watch tonight and see if it goes away. It's very possible it is cyano as well just a different strain?

You may be getting diatoms from increased levels of silica from your new rock
That's very true hopefully that's the case. Really don't want to battle dinos. Lights are down now and it's seems like it has receded a little bit but still there.
