Hello- a fellow reefer gave me the other pack of pods on the recent sale- buy 1 get 1 but I am not adding it yet until I re-do my rocks.
Should I refrigerate the pack of pods or leave it at room temp?
Thanks!

dump them in. unless its a total wipe out peroxide clean your ok.

No peroxide involve. I just want new set of dry rocks :)
If I put the pods now with my current rocks I think it is pointless to put the pods. I need to know how to store these pods until I add the new rocks. Would be room temp or fridge for these pods?

Storing the pods in the fridge will keep them alive longer. ;)
Agreed, refrigeration is supposed to force them into "hibernation" and slow down their metabolism making them live a little longer.

Hi guys, happy to chime in here and help. Our products have a three week shelf life when stored in the fridge between 45-55 degrees. We recommend storing our products on the top shelf of the fridge door. If they die off, it probably means your fridge was too cold. As living things, they require food and oxygen so taking the lid off and adding a couple drops of phytoplankton to the bag will really help them keep! If you are going to use the pods within a week, we recommend just keeping them at room temp with the lid of and adding some phyto into the bag!

Thanks for the info. Will do it on the next purchase. I think the pods are dead, fridge is set at 36 degrees and I look in the bag and pods are in the bottom :(

Set the bottle on the counter for 15-20 minutes before giving up on them. The ones at my LFS sometimes are all at the bottom in the fridge but get active in 10-15 minutes as they warm up.

As soon as I read the reply by Algae barns I pulled it out from the fridge and left it on room temp and put drops of phyto.
Crossing fingers and will check tomorrow morning.
