I have a 120gal tank that's about 2 years old. I do regular water changes/maint and have never had an issue with algae whatsoever... until recently. About 2 weeks ago my AC in the house stopped working and my tank had a temp spike for 2 days while I was gone. I believe that, along with me starting to feed reef roids a few weeks earlier fueled an algae bloom. All of my parameters have been steady, nothing seems to be elevated, corals are growing, etc. Nothing changed but the temp spike and reef roids.I have since stopped feeding reef roids until this is under control and have been trying to vacuum out as much algae as possible, but still seems to grow back, mostly on my sand bed and thick on the back wall. Anybody have any advice on how to deal with it? Debating on doing a black out of my lights for a few days and run some kind of GFO, phosguard, whatever I can to help....any advice is appreciated!! I dont want the black out to affect the coral or nems, as I've got many bubble tips I dont need wandering around. Thanks in advance.
