I have an algae bloom in the bucket that I'm curing my live rock in. I just did a water change to try an remedy it. Can someone help me?

Edit: I think I let the nitrates go too high for too long. The water change should fix it. In addition, I placed a dark blanket over the bucket.

Can always add a UV filter like The Green Killing Machine. It's self contained. Easy to maintain.

I just tried what you said but the UV filter doesn't fit around the curved top of the bucket. Are there any other ways to combat an algae growth in a bucket that's curing live in rock?

Daily water changes of at least 25% and scrubbing the rock with a soft brush to remove the algae has worked for me.

Okay. Thanks a ton. I am working on doing another 100% water change today and tomorrow. I also went to the store and purchased some imagitarium algae reducer.

Do you think I should stop dosing with ammonia until I get the algae under control?
