So I’ve had this going on for two weeks now. The water is very murky and cloudy during the daytime, at night it is crystal clear.

Tank finished at cycle. About a week ago

75 gallon with fluval fx4
Tunze in tank skimmer
2 AI prime hd
Two powerheads opposite ends of tank
Temp 78
Salinity 1.025
pH 8.2
Ammonia 0
Nitrite 0
Nitrate barely detectable

2 clowns
3 green chromis

UV filter will help. Check out the Green Killing Machine. I used a small one, 3 watt, on my QT and it completely cleared up the bloom I'd been fighting for a couple of weeks with countless water changes, etc.

If you are concerned about the safety of the fish, inverts and or coral, it is perfectly fine to run 24/7 and a lot of people have UV Sterilizers running 24/7 on their reef tanks. I have a 9W on my QT and run it 24/7 and plan on getting a much larger unit for my DT in a few months after the tank has been up and running for a while and has cycled.

If you are concerned about the life of the bulb, they do sell replacement bulbs for pretty cheap, but if you wanted to I guess you could limit it to running a couple days a week or a couple hours a day and see how it goes.

Sio I got the 24w For my 75 gallon tank and I now have crystal clear water. This thing is amazing!
