Hey everyone,

I've started to see some quick growth recently of some algae. Im assuming (don't own a microscope) i have some green algae on my hands. I've also started to notice small deposits of coralline on my wall. I've had my tank running for about 8 months now. I have 2 clowns, a goby, and a royal gamma.

To help with algae I recently purchased 5 fat turbo snails, a urchin, some astreas, and a few hermit crabs.

I only bought the urchin and snails 4 days ago...i saw it attacking some of the hair algae on my circulatio pump. Nothing has touched the growth im most concerned about on my sand bed.

I own a 65G. I usually do water changes every 2 weeks. I have a eheim 350 cannister that I service every 2 weeks. Just did water testing with salifert.

Nitrate -- 5
Phos -- 0.01
SG -- 1.025
Temp -- 77.5

I've been told (and read) conflicting info regarding siphoning the sandbed...yay or nay? And over time...with continued maintenance should the algae issue over time sprt of reach its own equilibrium?

Thanks for reefing (reading)

Rob

Are your lights always that white, or is that just for the pictures?

If they are always like that, you'll want more blues, as the white will really help the algae grow.

Just had the whites on for the picture lol have whites on VERY low for a few hours a day. Mostly blues and purple.
