I have had my tank running for about a month and a half, then algae had developed quite abit. I was wondering if there are any recommendations on how to control this, and if Phosphate could be the problem. I have also one Halloween hermit crab and one clown fish.

This is surface/film algae which is very normal algae growth associated with new tank break in and often due to high white intensity and even having your tank at or near a window where it receives direct or indirect sunlight/UV rays.
Sand is showing a few diatoms associated with new dry rock and sand due to silicates and as they dissipate, so does the diatoms. to help control, reduce white intensity a little and add a few snails such as Astrea-cerith-trochus-turbo grazer and nassarius and even a few Carribean blue leg hermits which are tiny

Actually my aquarium is not near a window and I keep my curtains closed all the time. for some reason my camera makes pictures brighter then they are. However, my light for this tan kind of does suck alot. I am getting a new one for coral and not sure when to use the blue light. I do have a hermit already and he is doing a great job with the sand, but he seems to be over whelmed with the amount of food right now lol. this week though I am getting some snails and was wondering which ones to get, so thank you for letting me know what to get :)

With blue, start low and ramp up to desired intensity
