I have a Red Sea 130 Max. It's about 2 weeks old. Everything seems to be working fine but I'm starting to get a bit of algae build up on the back wall if the tank. Should I scrub it off? Or is it healthy?

Do you know what kind of algae it is? Is it sludgy/slimey or hairy? And color?

Also, if its only been set up for a couple of weeks then its going through its uglies phase. You may want to test your water now and see if its safe to add a cleanup crew. I don't know how much you know about the hobby so I don't want to insult your intelligence. But let me know if you have any other concerns.

Looks both brown and white. With a bit of hair. I'm very new to the hobby. I have 2 snails & a hermit crab in the tank. Any thoughts are appreciated! Thanks!

I would get a variety of snails in there. Its a 34+ gallon, right?

I'm thinking maybe about 12 more snails or so.

BUT! You are the best clean up crew, and you can clean it yourself if its an eyesore. Other than that, it doesn't hurt to leave it for the snails.

Negative, if you're getting algae on the glass then the algae on the rocks should suffice. Plus this is a never ending cycle so that algae will keep coming back. Welcome to the hobby!
