So I have a tank where clean up crew is not possible due to the fish I have...

Niger Trigger
Assasi Trigger
Harlequin Tusk
French Angel
Hippo Tang
Flame Hawkfish
Longnose Hawkfish
Zebra Moray

I have some algae but its not bad, just wanted to ask what people due to control algae in cases like this? Brightwell Aquatics has the Razor product that may help, has anyone tried it?

wheres the locus of the algae, that matters

hows your live rocks or substrate

is all on glass? if so that's lucky distribution

Many tang and rabbit fish species are excellent herbivores. For algae on the glass you could start dosing small amounts of silica to encourage diatom growth that will out compete glass algae.

Go buy:

*80 proof vodka (cheapest they have)
*gallon jug of food grade 3% vinegar
*a 1.5oz shotglass

Pour one shotglass of vodka and one shotglass of vinegar DAILY......and you basically have what's in RedSeas NoPox. Credit goes to Randy Holmes Farley for this formula

After dosing fir 6 weeks I went from 10-20ppm NO3 to zippo, nothing, but fat zero. My PO4 is also zippo.

My corals have never looked better, zero algae. I scrape the front glass from algae buildup once a week with just a thin thin film.....that use to be every 2 days with a thick film.

But you prob wont heed my advice bc Im some random dude..... but I know whats-up, thanks to RHF, and I'll continue to master NO3 and PO4 and algae

+1 for rabbitfish and tangs. I really like the Ctenochaetus tangs.

Maybe Diadema urchins? I know some Triggerfish eat urchin, but don't know about your ones.

I also have a semi-predator reef tank with Bird Wrasses and Triggers.....I use Urchins, Asterina starfish, and algae eating fish (Kole tang, Blennys, etc.) All snails and crabs are eaten within seconds of being introduced.

Rabbitfish, Kole Tang (or equivalent tang), lawnmower Blenny. Use chemipure elite and purigen. Feed less. Reduce lighting. Only things I know that work long term.

Lower light levels if it's fish only.
