Our Kole Tang just passed away yesterday evening; the Nemos are fine, Corals are thriving; params are good.

The Kole Tang has done tremendous job in cleaning algae, particularly those on the rocks and I am keen to find his replacement, which I hope would do similar or better job, whilst maintaining small in size.

I am trying to avoid surgeon fish and from quick research, it seems that Blenny would suit the job specifications.

Can you think of other candidates or Blenny would be my best bet? If it's Blenny, can you recommend which kind?

TIA!

I've seen yellow tangs in that size of a tank. They will outgrow it but it will take some time. Kole tang is the best for a smaller tank.

Algae or starry blennies are among the best algae eating blennies. If you have a lot of algae a seahare does a really good job.

However, I wouldn't add anything until you pinpointed exactly why the tang died.
