Have this annoying algae that seems to like my frag plugs and parts of my sand, looks like tons of little hairs, it seems to be brown or maybe dark green

Nah 10g nano
I have this shrimp, no idea what kind. He’s nocturnal and I rarely ever see him. I’ve had that same algae before. When I put a frag plug with algae, he comes out of hiding during the day and cleans them off until they’re nearly white!

The shrimp is a light brown/tannish color and small blue dots. Haven’t ever been able to take pics for id.

Options could be.
feed less,
remove red + green lighting spectrum
use of nopox
use of algea scrubber or reactor, or refugium.

Thanks - any idea what type of algae it is? I had been battling diatoms but this looks different..though the little hairs have been growing on my sand as well.

already removed red+green lighting and have been doing manual removal occasionally. my nitrates/phosphates register as 0, so looks like algae is feeding on them heavily?

Hey JD I get the same stuff. Annoys the Hades out of me ! I pull them every so often & hit the plug with a tooth brush .

Thanks all - yeah its not too much, just eye-sore and my nitrates/phosphates have been zero'd out so trying to find the cause.
