Looks to be some sort of macro algae, while it is like that, you can take tweezers and get most of it off. Rinse the shell with the coral on it in a small container of saltwater before putting the shell back in the tank.

If it comes back, you can try spot cleaning it with hydrogen peroxide (use 3% it's almost harmless)
Algae tend to bleach very quickly in this stuff. And it's absolutely non toxic as long as you keep it mostly off the coral. Corals tolerate it quite ok but better rinse it off if you get it on the coral tissue.
Use pipette to apply and put it back in the water without agitating it much.

I have to admit I never used it on saltwater algae. But I know people use it in saltwater to clean crud off rocks and corals don't mind it too much.

I've got some on my feather duster's tube. I believe it's a type of Cladophora

Is it something to be concerned about?

I don't think so? It's not like GHA or cyano or dino that will take over your tank in a few days. It does grow kinda fast under the right conditions but for the most part I've just been trimming it with scissors (I think it makes the tube worm shell look cooler and any macroalgae help with nutrient export so win-win).

How long have you had it in your system?

Any pics?

I'll try to get a pic tomorrow or something but it's in the back and its covered by some red hair algae that is encrusted onto the tube.
