Hey guys, my Zoas have been in this location for a while and they have tripled in size in months. However, I had a algae break out and while I got it all under control, my Zoas haven't really recovered. In fact, I keep seeing this brown stuff on them every day. It blows right off with a baster, but it comes back the next day. Any ideas?

I can't tell if it's red slime. The flow may have been low in that area of the tank. I changed my MP10 to NTM at 50% today and am monitoring. So far, I don't see any on the Zoas yet, but the lights aren't on yet.

Ok so I didn't do it because I noticed that it's actually starting to grow on my rocks even! Here's a closer video, should I post this in an algae id sub category or something?

For anyone else that has this problem in the future and refers to this thread:

I think I figured it out. From my research, it seems that it is cyano. The give away is that it disappears at night and comes back around when the lights are on. I am going to go with a 3 day blackout to attempt to manage it. There are chemical ways of dealing with it as well so it is up to you, but when diagnosing, keep an eye out to see if is disappearing at night and then research that symptom. I think you will find the same.
