I have a 120g tank that has had fish in it for about 2 months now. I am starting to get algae on glass and rocks. And just a little on sand bed. Right now there is just a real little bit of red hair algae. It is all mostly green.

What is causing the algae growth?
How do you get rid of the algae?

I have a fowlr tank.

Your system is cycling, I would suggest looking into a cleaning crew for the rock work and sand bed, I like a mag float to clean the glass and check your parameter to see were your Po4's and No3's are . If you are testing your parameters post them up and then we can help you.

I will test them and post. The last time I checked all were in line

Not too worry my friend!

Mostly everyone who owns a reef tank has been through an algae bloom.

Your tank is just cycling.

I just hope you use RODI water

Algae is growing becaise of accumulating phosphate and nitrates.

The key to getting rid of algae is finding the source. A couple main ones are your incoming water TDS, how much you feed and your bio load. Controlling these three can go a long way to preventing algae in the first place.
