Can someone tell me what algae this is? Is it hair algae? My tank is newly cycled. It seems to have just shown up since i installed my new led lights. Should i cut down light exposure to help get rid of it? I have 2 conch snails, a small abalone and 2 cone snails. Do i need more snails? Maybe some turbos or something?
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

GHA, apply H2O2 to the algae sections, wait 4 minutes then put back into the tank. Will be dead around 72 hours

Looks like turf or hair algae, and is pretty much expected after cycling a tank. A few more nerite snails or algae eaters will help, as will being careful with your nutrients and phos. Is your rock established live rock, or did you start dry? Often "newer" rock will leach phos for a while, adding to the algae growth, which eventually dies down.

Thanks for the swift reply guys. Should i apply straight H202 or a mix of it water or somthing?

@azbigjohn, so its kinda just part of the cylce? its mainly cured rock from the lfs. There are a couple of bits of fresh stuff from the barrier reef but they have been cycling for a while now. I did have way high salinity up until i fixed it up the other day. What would you suggest as good rock algae eater snails?

Generally tanks go through stages for the first 6-9 months post-cycle, and algae on the rocks is one of those stages.

I always go to this thread: https://www.reef2reef.com/threads/choosing-cleanup-crew-critters.258695/ for the answers to CUC questions!

Straight 3% peroxide applied to the algae areas
