Sorry for the bad picture but I just started running my kessil 360w light because I got coral. Just noticed the brow algae on the sand, also on rocks. Is it bad? Do I need to do anything and how?

Tank been cycling for a month and the lights were installed last Friday and is on for about 12 hours a day no more than 50% intensity. I have a controller for the light. Hope this is a better picture.I'd first ask how long tank has been running ?and a better pic would also help on here
By ramping do you mean the intensity up and down? If so it is on a schedule. So no need for a water change or be concern? The lights are a coincidence. This is a natural part of the cycle. I wouldn’t run the lights 12 hours unless you are ramping up and down for 2-3 hours on each end. Otherwise, I’d leave it alone and let your tank finish it’s run.
You’ve got a nice start going. Looks good.
+1 diatoms. But, don't go stocking this tank with corals just yet. Let it mature for a couple months. You have a lot more algae blooms to come. Wait, nevermind, you have corals. Get readylooks like diatoms cuc will sort that out in no time

How many cuc do you recommend me adding? I have a 40 gallon tank.your tank is going to go through the uglies. let it be. You will get algae no matter what. will need a cuc soon
My opinion I would keep it minimal. Maybe 6 hermits. Scarlet and/or blue legged hermits. 2-3bumblebee snails. 1 conche ( make sure its not a crown conche they eat snails ). 2-3trouches snails. 2-3 nassaris snails. 2-3 cerith snails. So thats 19 members of a cuc to start with. Leavea you room for addition later if needed. How many cuc do you recommend me adding? I have a 40 gallon tank.
