I have a fairly new tank setup. Its been going now for a couple of months.

Recently the algae has started growing and idk what it is.

Will it go away on its own?

What are your water parameters? Do you use Rodi water for water changes and how frequently? Didnounuse dry rock or live rock? Algae blooms are pretty common with new setups.

Yes i use rodi water i made myself. All with 0 tds water.

Also ive been doing water changes every 2 weeks.

No nitrates or ammonia either.

You could possibly getting a false reading on your nitrates because your algae is consuming it quicker than it shows in your test. Do you have a refugium with macrogae in it? Maybe doing weekly water changes for a few weeks will help also manually removing as much as possible will help battle the algae.

I have some chaeto in the refugium. But its dieing out now.

Im using redsea test but maybe so.

I didnt know if there was something i was doing wrong or what. I move from my old 75 gallon to this 125 and added more live rock as well.

The new live rock could possibly be the cause and leeching phosphate and it nitrates into the system. Keep up with water changes and small feedings multiple times is more efficient and causes less waste food. What’s your lighting schedule maybe shortening it slightly could also help.
