Looks like a Diatom Bloom.
New tank? Or change of lighting?

Tagging along-how long will diatoms stay, if thats what it is?

Diatoms live off the silicone in the system once depleted the diatoms will die off.

Hi guys the tank is 9 months old and I already had my original diatom bloom. A change in lighting did occur recently but it was only a lower intensity and lower photo period from the same fixture. How could silicates be entering the aquarium? I am running phosguard as well as using RO/DI water.

Agreed with twillard that u may n dealing with cyano

First it to identify it :)
Follow my steps in the identification thread below and from there a plan can be built
