Hey guys,

I have this Algae in both of my tanks, its the brown little specs. It is extremely hard to scrub off... I have to use my finger nails - SUCH A PIA.

It seems to come and go. Could it be Dinos?

Images if a little hard to make out, but that does not look like Dino. Dino is stringy and snotty. Looks like a film algae remnants from the snails grazing.

Does the film algae they leave behind become rock hard and near impossible to scrub off unless you have a scraping device??

Yeah it's hard to remove. Daily cleaning with a mag float helps a lot, although that does no could if you can not get behind the rocks. If this is a glass tank than razor blade and elbow grease routinely to keep it under control.

I always just used a razor blade and some stiff aquarium foam material to clean the rounded corners. It's a pain for sure.
