This is not standard hair algae or byropsis I know this much. Attached are 2 pictures one in tank and one out of water with a cheapo phone macro lens.
You can see it doesn't grow leaves. It is hard both physically, and to remove. You can see it growing around the silicone of my frag tank but it's taken hold on quite a few frag plugs as well. I believe something eats it as I've never seen it in my display tank, only in my frag tank. Which being a 50 gallon lowboy just has 2 or 3 snails and whatever other hitchhiker stomatellas are in there as a cleanup crew. If I can figure out what it is perhaps I can figure out what eats it, or go at it a different way such as with vibrant ect.
