Hi,

I have a Fluval 13.5 tank that has been running for a year. I recently had to battle Dinos and was able to beat them but then came GHA. I had increased feedings to up nutrients which I knew increased because of the GHA bloom that I got but at all times my API tests kept reading 0 for nitrate and phosphates. After the dinos were gone and the GHA took over I started dosing Vibrant, daily manual removal, reduced feeding and kept on top of water changes (weekly water change 20-30%). The GHA started taking a noticeable reduction but then this algae started taking over.

You can see it on the top/back its sort of film but also forms long strands. I have had cyano in the past but it didn't look like this.

Here is another picture showing the sand. It has like a grayish color and forms thin films some times you can almost see through it.

Here is a picture under the microscope at 400x (cheap microscope, sorry for the bad quality),

Can someone help ID?

Thanks

Surface algae and looks like the start of Green hair algae. Reduce white light intensity and add snails for control; such as:
turbo grazer
astrea
cerith
nassarius

Even pin cushion urchin
