Been trying to ID this algae for a few months with no luck. It’s very rigid, crunchy when it’s squished, doesn’t remove easily from rock, grows very slowly.

For reference it’s the branching algae in the photos. The moss like algae is growing in it.

Any thoughts??

Pulled some from the tank today. Hope these photos show enough detail. If better photos are needed let me know what you’d like to see.

I've never come across algae like that. Looks like some sort of crystal formation, lol. Also resembles bubble algae a little... I wonder if it's a relative.

The structures are bubble like. It’s really strange algae. There’s another version of it I need to get a photo of that has branching structures.
