So I’ve been fighting this for a good two months now, and I’m just not sure if it’s Dinos or calothrix. My snails are lethargic and I have to flip them over constantly, which makes me thinks it’s a toxic strain of Dino’s. This also brushes off easily with a tooth brush. The urchins I have are making quick work of it, but it just seems to come back over and over.

I introduced a harlequin shrimp a few months ago to destroy my astarina starfish population, and they may have actually been keeping this algae at bay the entire time.

Parameters:
Alk - 7.5
Nitrate - 13ppm
Phosphate - .25ppm
Mag - 1400ppm

Thanks,

Yeah that was another idea. What was your method to resolving this issue?
Well first off, id recommend buying a microscope. A cheap childs one will work, I got one from Kohls. Youll need to identify if you have dinos and what species. Some easy indicators, does it come back every day while the lights are on? and can you take a turkey baster and blow off the algae, if a brown dust comes off its probably dinos.

You have a few things going on, first ID those dinos with a microscope. Then deal with the alage
