Just looking for some help with id I’ve not experienced this in the past, Algae is filamentous, slightly stringy slightly fuzzy. Does not remind me of hair algae. Doesn’t bubble or disappear at night like Dino. Is fairly hard to remove even with a stiff brush. Doesn’t blow off. Newer tank, hanna phosphorus is normally 0 to detectable, nitrates 3 on Hanna. Dosing phosphate or nitrate makes it worse and levels return to low so it’s consuming it. Feeding has been reduced to minimal and auto water change at 15% weekly. Running uv and skimming wet, roller mat installed as well. Par is 250 top 150 bottom, grows anywhere glass rocks or sand. Thanks

No it’s not bryopsis I wish it was. It’s fuzzy with strands no longer than quarter inch but it’s not hair, firmly attached to whatever it’s on. Grows on glass, tangs eat it or at least pick at it. Inverts seem to eat it a little and are fine. It’s pretty difficult to scrape off glass and a toothbrush doesn’t put a dent in it. Doesn’t bubble much if any or look like mucus like Dino or Cyano. Greenish brown when taken out of the tank away from reef lighting. Tanking my nutrients and starting to upset some coral. Roller mat smells terrible and is going through rolls quickly. Waiting on a microscope but this one has me stumped.
