Hello everyone. My tank is a year old now and I have noticed that coraline growth has halted and now my rock is turning black or really dark green. I was wondering if anyone knows what it is. Thanks in advance for any help .

No ID on the algae, but wonder if you need to dose trace elements to get the coralline growing again. I assume the light level hasn’t changed nor phosphate and nitrate levels.Hello everyone. Hi Dan. Thanks for the reply. Actually the tank is in despair. My RODI filter ran out of anion resin so I was unable to do water changes. I have Cyano pretty bad, that’s all the brown stuff on the sand bed, so I turned my lights down trying to deter it’s growth and my phosphates and nitrates are extremely high. 45 ppm nitrate and . 90 phosphate. I recently added GFO and reduced feeding drastically . And my filter replacements came a few days ago so I will be doing a very heavy water change. I’ve lost 3 of my corals already and looks like one is on the way out. Alk and PH are ok. 7.9 ph and 8.9 alk.No ID on the algae, but wonder if you need to dose trace elements to get the coralline growing again. Sorry to hear. Good luck bringing it back!Hi Dan. Thanks for the reply. Actually the tank is in despair. My RODI filter ran out of anion resin so I was unable to do water changes. Calcium magnesium and trace elements are probably very low due to not being able to do water changes. Waiting on reagents as mine have expired.
Thank you.Sorry to hear. Good luck bringing it back!
