Ok. So I finally got my $30 microscope in! These aren't the best shots ever, but I'm very surprised by how good they actually are. Kids love looking at the stuff swimming around, so good purchase.

Anyway.

Here is the situation. Very maroon-ish algae growing on one side of the tank. Just on the sand. Kind of mats together but gone ASAP when lights go out. I've done 5 doses of Peroxide (1ml/10g) and I feel like it's actually getting worse.

BUT - here are the photos. I'm thinking dinos...the third image has some more stalk-types.

Can you also post the regular pic. Please

Tank stuff:

I recently went fallow and had a nitrate issue. It hit zero. Phosphates ballooned up to .16. Now I'm dosing potassium nitrate and got nitrate to about 1ppm. Phosban reactor is up and nitrates falling.

Based on a few links I've found I'm leaning towards Amphidinium sp.

They don't spin around like crazy, just kind of swim around moving through the water.
