Taking over the live rock, no clue what it is!
Looking for an identification/any creatures that will eat it/ a technique of removal.

As of now the lights are off and the algae reactor is working OT

Thanks
Happy Reefing

Looks like you have some green turf algae and some green bubble algae (2nd pic near the bottom). Have you tried to remove it? Green turf algae can be scraped off in mats. Or "Clean up Crew members that will eat Green Turf Algae include inverts with considerable cutting power like urchins, chitons, and emerald crabs."
Emerald and Ruby crabs and some Rabbit fish (foxface, etc.) will eat green bubble algae.

No bubble algae I can identify but you think the green is turf algae? Manually remove?

Anyone have any idea as to what the best urchin would be for a 30 gallon mixed reef to control turf algae? Never had one in one of my reefs. I know I’ll have to start securing my frags better

I have this in my nano currently and I’m just taking it really slow since it’s actually not bothering any of my coral anyways.

Usually something like a sea hare would work really well but they will need continuous algae to live so it’s best you have someone you can sell it to afterwards and or return to the store. I would add one but I’m afraid it will move all my frags around if not cause my rocks to fall.

Urchins can be a hit or a miss as I have one (Purple Short Spine Pincushion Urchin) in another tank and it’s always just on my glass.

What helped me control it:
-feeding once every two days
-water changes
-taking the rock out and scrubbing the algae off
-Adding a clean up crew

I still have it but much less. Goodluck!

Yeah I was considering refreshing my clean up crew a little bit, any ideas what would be best to handle for snails?

Trochus snails, astera snails, and turbo snails. Those help me out a lot. I also have two little tangs that pick at it all day.
