Algae Id Please, haven't been able to get a 100% sure confirmation yet

It looks like green cyanobacteria to me. Does it blow off easily? The red algae is Gelidium sp. a nuisance red hair algae.

I just noticed you are from Kentucky. I've answered a few posts from this area and Ohio about this scourge, plague, make you want to quit cyanobacteria. I had it come in on a frag. It is the worst plague I have ever dealt with in all the years I've been keeping saltwater.

Yes it's awful, that's how I got that gelidium in my tank that's spreading everywhere ! From a frag plug, I didn't think it was anything, boy was I wrong!

You'll need to siphon out the green cyanobacteria every day when it is in full bloom; which is in the middle of the light cycle. I did 5 - 10 gallon siphons per day for over two weeks before I got a handle on it. That green cyanobacteria will smother everything in your tank in just a few days if left unchecked.

Ok thanks, I'm gonna keep on fighting it until I get it outta there ! Yes I'm from KY, just a little south of Danville. I wish we had more better SPS coral available here without ordering online but I've got some pretty good corals online @ reasonable prices too.

I do jobs in Danville all the time. Maybe we could work out a trade. Right now I've got about got about a thousand of these.
