Slime. You should be able to siphon right up. Lower white light intensity a little. Are you using tap water or RO water?
If you pick up a piece of algae, it will feel slimy between your fingers. I assume you have no clean up crew which will help control this. 3 turbo , astrea, trochus, nassarius snails and about 6 blue leg hermits. they will devour this stuff. Phos a tad high which may be a causative but nothing to chase.what do you mean by slime?
It’s a fluval evo and I’ve heard those lights are very white, but can not be adjusted.
RO water tested by TDS. Nitrates usually 10 and phosphates usually .5-.1
thanks for the reply
I’ve got 2 trochus, 2 hermits and 3 nassarius. Could use more probably. What species is the algae though? just making sure it’s not Dino again. It looks similar, some bubbles appear but it isn’t fast growing and I’ve noticed my snails do it eat which didn’t happen with the Dino’s, it just killed themIf you pick up a piece of algae, it will feel slimy between your fingers. It is indeed like dino but without the effect. Some form of filamentous algae very similar to cyano. Clean up crew should be able to keep it in check. I'd siphon it up and increase CUCI’ve got 2 trochus, 2 hermits and 3 nassarius. Could use more probably. What species is the algae though? just making sure it’s not Dino again.
