This is about as good as I can get. I hope I zoomed in on the right thing.

appears to be a dinoflagellate. ostreopsis specifically.

how does it look in the tank? Does it disappear at night? What is your PO4 level?

It does seem to lessen at night. Overall though after turning off the skimmer and feeding more, there seems to be less of it. I also have been adding real live rock through the week.

I will have some current tank specs in a few hours, I will post them here.

Yeah. Dinos thrive in tanks with 0 PO4 so you probably were able to raise it.
UV will dramatically reduce their population. You can also try silicate dosing, hydrogen peroxide, and blackouts.

Ive tried all these things and UV plus managing PO4 have helped me the most.

I have read that maybe more amphipod / copepod introduction may help. Since buying this tank used, I have not seen one. I am introducing live rock but it does not seem to be the same level of alive I would find around 2010. Can you actually buy amphipods and do they survive shipment?

Looking through my test kits that the seller had with the tank, he had everything but Phosphates. Nitrates ended up being .2

Also I noticed today, even after running the lights heavy all day the dino spots are not nearly as prominent, they look like they are going away.

Yeah. Dinos come and go. I have been managing it for quite a while and sometimes its worse than others but whenever I see a lot growing, I know I need to dose phosphate.
Id recommend the Hanna ULR phosphate checker. PO4 is a very important parameter IME.
