Hi, I am new to the hobby and noticed this white and pink and white looking slim on one of my rocks. I have two thoughts it's either a dead fish or some type of Algae. I had three fish 2 clowns and a hectors goby. The two clowns passed away to what I believe is Brook and then the Hectors Goby went MIA. That's why I was thinking it could be him. I do have some snails and a cleaner shrimp in the tank. tempImage3Gkp1s.png tempImageZ4IcWq.png tempImageXvvds9.png tempImageWr5bID.png 4E7BEEC6-0702-4876-A661-408C49A4CEA6_1_201_a.jpeg

To me I'd think it would likely be one of the fish, especially since you said the goby was MIA. It kind of looks like sponge but your rock looks so new that I don't think you'd have sponge growth on perfectly pristine rock - especially before any sort of algae. Can you poke it with something or try to dislodge it?

I ended up cleaning it up last night and it was the goby (RIP), it had a terrible smell of rotting fish and looked like meat when I removed it. Thank you both for your help!
