Their mg test kits are over $50...they are over an hour away from me...I'm pregnant and I have a toddler... It's literally feat to get there.

Don't freak. I have bryopsis. It's not that tough. You have high nutrients cuz it's a new tank and has a young bio filter
Just keep cleaning it out at WC time.
IMO playing with the chemistry of the tank as it's still developing will only confuse the issue.
Algae happens.
It's a weed. Pull it.
As the system matures and you get better at MG testing you can raise it and getvrid of it. But IMO IME it's more likely by pulling it and letting the nutrients drop it'll go away.
Mine did in my second tank. I let it grow in the other one as an experiment and I want to buy a lettuce nudibranch.
