Algae ID

Hi,

My tank is around 2 months and old and I am getting this Red algae growing. It appears to fluoresce under blue light as well. It actually looks quite nice. Should I keep it?

Some sort of gracilaria would be my guess. Keeping it is up to you. I personally do not like macro algae in my display, so I keep it in the fuge. Many do keep them in their display though, it is all about what you prefer

I don't think it will last to long in your display to be honest almost any herbivore will eat it for sure.
