Algae ID

This algae had been spreading like crazy for the past few weeks, but I can't figure out what it is. Nitrates are high, so I have been doing twice weekly water changes to get them lower. Can anyone help me ID what this algae is?

The nitrate is not really new, just has been creeping up. I figured it would eventually start dropping like it did in my nano aquarium. I was doing weekly water changes, 20 gallons on the 100 gallon system. Testing out at somewhere north of 40 on nitrates using both API and salifert tests.

Tank is only 6 months old. Been using red sea coral pro salt.

Crazy thing is, my few acros I have look great, and are growing like weeds.

I have the same issue. General consensus is Ulva or lettuce algae.heres my thread about it.

My parameters have been solid and I still have it, I think some of my live rock was seeded with it.

I'm at
0 nitrates
.08 phosphates
9 dkh

Still dont have my tangs yet but I had to start pulling the algae out. They grow back fast though. Sorry no helpful info on getting rid of it but it's unlikely your nitrates that's causing it.

This algae is Ulva sp. and contains high rates of ergosterol in its cell walls, which makes it susceptible to treatment by FLUCONAZOLE.

I had some and manual removal worked very well, probably because my refugium picked up the slack.

I've seen a few leaves of this in my tank here and there. I think when the leaves get large enough for my Kole tang to see, he eats them. It must have come in on a frag, as I started with dry pukani.
