When it first took hold I thought it was some sort of bryopsis that I’d never seen before, but now I’m not so sure. The tank has only been running for about a month. Most of the rock came from my previous tanks, but a small amount came from a guy who was breaking his tank down. All of the rock, save for the live stuff I seeded it with, was thoroughly bleached, dechlorinated, and baked in the sun for several weeks.

Most of it is 10” or so. It went for non existent to plague levels in a week. I have a couple tangs in there that I have seen eat it, but there’s just too much of it. I fluconazale ready to go, but don’t want to use it if it isn’t going to work.

Caulerpa verticillata?
It’s not really bushy like c. Verticillata. It’s long, singular strands for the most part. Also, if I’m not mistaken, don’t most types of caulerpa grow relatively slowly? This popped up overnight pretty much...

Also, the live rock that I added was from my other tank so I’m sure it didn’t come from there. Turbo snails may be eating it (hard to tell), and I have a sea hare on deck that will be going in tomorrow.
