well tanks been running about a month.

I got 2 different algae issues one is brown and stringy and very tough to remove even with a brush but I managed to get most of it off but I didnt want to get to aggressive next to the corals

Here is a pic:

It was longer and took over the whole frag. It also used to be on the sand bed. It seems to be kind of all over but not overly invasive
Only got bad on a few frags on the sand bed
Will this eventually pass will a blenny help? Also what is it?

Next is a leaf or lettuce like algae but this picture isn't the best i just pulled Most of it off but it was a reddish brown hue and only on this one coral the snails wont touch it.

Parameters:
Alkalinity: 8.2
Calcium: 440
Magnesium: 1200
Ammonia: 0
Nitrite:0.05
Nitrate:0.5
Phosphate:unknown. Guess its time for a hanna checker or to find my old one that probably lost to the garage or basement gremlins that steal socks.

Any help is greatly appreciated thanks everyone.

Lights are on for 10 hrs a day. If that matters.

Thanks ill look into raising it up and also get a phosphate checker as well.

Seems like maybe just the new tank uglies. Might want to slow down a little bit and let the system stabilize before adding too many corals.

That was also my initial thought. Just wanted to hear some other perspectives.

They probably are but its one of those test where 0 and the next value are so close that you can convince yourself its either or. So being an engineer I choose worse case. Also its a red sea test kit from the master kit.
