In need of assistance with algae identification. This stuff has been taking over my QT. It seems no matter how much I scrub it comes back just a day later. It holds on to surfaces like bryopsis but the only bryopsis I've ever seen is green and this is brown. o_O

Try googling turf algae. See if it looks like it.
It looks similar to turf algae but it seems to have individual strands grow longer and spreads out less. I've been taking the plugs out and scrubbing them almost every other day so that might be why it hasn't spread. It's pretty much covered every surface and my snails seem to be eating it but not quickly enough for it to go away.

Remove plugs dip toothbrush in H202 and scrub.
This is the fix for turf algae? what about any other surfaces that have it? I believe I remember reading that small amounts of hydrogen peroxide can be dosed directly to the tank. Could this be the way to remove it from the whole tank?

Yes I thought it was only the plug
