New tank uglies - Diatoms
feed sparingly as tank cycles and siphon up as it becomes heavier. No harm to tank
Clean up crew will help- red leh hermits, sand sifting starfish, and Cerith and astrea snails

Yep diatoms, they feed on silicates, once the food source is depleted they will disappear.

sooo the diatoms are getting worse tanks going brown !!! how to stop this ? im using RODI water ! gonna do a water change to day after work and clean up the heavy algae Super annoying lol its all over glass, rocks, sand, everything is covered!

RODI water doesn't guarantee no silicates. It should but it doesn't. You can test your water for silicon if you get a test kit. The only one I found that works is the Hanna checker though. Besides an ICP that is.

It will go away on its own unless silicon keeps getting introduced. You can always buy some snails too. Most love to eat diatoms. Trochus, fighting conchs, cerith, to name a few.
