more like little palm trees. Single stalks. Did not see anything on reef cleaners that looked like it.

I don’t think so. Almost looks like a dandelion. Bare stalk, puff on the end.

Wow, that's a new one on me also. Is it really firmly attached to the rock...as in will break before being pulled off cleanly?

I had a similar looking algae that was without the "dandelion" on the end and was red. The only way I could get rid of it was to actually scrape the surface of the rock off or cut it with bone cutters. Fortunately mine seemed to grow pretty slowly.

It was hard to get off the snail... tends to break off. I had to then use tweezers to pull off the ends. Will try to remove from a rock tonight.

I believe I’ve seen that snorkeling, but not in a tank. My guess if you remove it by hand at times, it won’t be a problem.

I believe it is acetabularia. It looks like some get the cap that looks like a lilly pad but before the cap they can get the dandelion puff called a whorl of hairs. They are always short lived in my tank along with very slow growing. So they are far from having any chance to overrun my tank. It is a calcified macro. I never did well with those though.
