So I have a reef tank that been set up for over 2 years now and I have battled Dinos for almost the entire time. Finally after setting my protein skimmer on a timer and cutting way back on my fuge lighting and adding a UV sterilizer I think I won the battle. But now I have some other type of algae covering EVERYTHING in my tank. It is very stringy but doesnt look like dinos. is it some sort of Cyano and does anyone know how to defeat it? Im starting to want to throw in the towel because of the amount of money and time I have put into my tank and it always looks horrible. But id really like to turn that around if possible.

Whats your PO4 and NO3 reading ? Don't give up .. I went through this cycle.... I blacked out for 5 days and used Vibrant for few days.. It cleared up and I am making sure that my PO4 and NO3 are in check ... You can look at my posts ...

NO3 for some reason i have always struggled to have above zero. So right now using both salifert and red sea pro test kit i get 0ppm. Phosphates are at 0.039
