Hello, I'm hoping someone can narrow down the specific type of algae I'm dealing with here. I've looked at the sticky thread and it looks closest to green hairy algea but from what I can tell, not quite.
It grows on my back wall and no matter what I do, I can't get rid of it. I scrape it off and it comes right back. The rocks themselves have a similar "fuzzy" algea. I would take a picture but its really tough to make out what you're looking at. Suffice to say in a lot of spots the rocks have this fuzzy type of algea. Doesn't grow long but I can't just suction it off either. When I scrape it with my suction hose, it doesn't easily come off.
Parameters are consistent and within normal range. Nitrates are at 5 ppm and phosphates are at or near zero. I've been trying to raise phosphates forever but they just won't go up. Any ideas?
