Hey guys, could use some help to ID this algae in my tank and some recommendations for cuc.

Tank is a month old and was started using dry rock with fritz bacteria. I have only had 2 clownfish since then and this algae has only just popped up in the past week or so.

Ammonia 0, Nitrite 0, Nitrate around 1.5

Dont know what algae that is, Diatoms cyano ect.... but brown spots are the first thing to form on dry rock and new sand

Should I try and clean it up with a siphon or just let it grow and get a good cuc?

Reefcleaners.org can send you some nice critters to take care of that. I am in a similar spot on a reboot of a 40 AIO and i selected a lawnmower blenny to help and he's doing a great job, plus he's a hoot to watch!

I like trochus and nerite snails to start me off, maybe some astreas

If it is diatoms nothing really will eat them and they will go away in a few weeks all by themselves.
If you dont like the look on the sand, siphon it off.
If it is some sort of alage I dont see enough to support a clean up crew yet.
I would give it a week or 2 and see where it goes.
Either way it shows your tank can support life and is on its way to greatness
