Not sure what this is. Only have it on a single trochus in a nano. White tube, rounded end, with very fine hair algae covering. It's clearly not a vermetid or feather duster. I'll take a better pic later if needed.

shaving brush ??

Similar, but the hair doesn't look as fine as what is one this. Maybe because it's small?

Any other suggestions?

It's relatively soft/flexible and does not respond to touch.

Looks like green hair near the stem that turns into fine white hair as it extends.

Neomeris annulata looks less hairy and green stemmed to me. This is white stem with green hair.

is this a new to you tectus grazer ?

As others said, and I found the pic with the name as the name.

Neomeris sp.

there are quite a few types. Neomeris annulata is the most common. I see this while diving in the keys from time to time. The smaller sprouts are usually very hairy and the larger ones are not.

It should start to have a white base and you will begin to see the rings of it growing be more prominent.

Some like it and some don’t. It grows slowly, as it is a calcium consumer.

I've had it at least a couple months.

Interesting. It's in my 10g RFA tank so I'll just leave it for awhile and watch it grow. Thanks!
