Algae id?

Hello,

been going through the uglies on my few month old tank. Noticed this stringy algae but not sure what it is. Thinking hair algae but it’s got this white stringy looking going on. Any thoughts?

yes looks like the common hair algae. the stickiness you're looking at is probably due to vermid snail lines, or some other organism's "fishing line" that's sticking to the algae. I have that also, never really tried to ID what the possible "slime" secretions are from.

Thanks for the reply! I bought a couple turbo snails and they have gone to work on it!
