Hey everyone,
I have been trying to bring my tank back from a bit of a disaster in June with a huge GHA bloom combined with digitate hydroids that essentially took out most of the tank.
I treated twice with fluconazone and reduced feeding which seemed to improve the hydroids as well.

I moved the tank into a new house 1 week ago and then did a water change yesterday (probably about 20%)
Now I appear to have a different algae to what I’ve been dealing with before.
It seems similar at the top of tank to bottom in form but is different colours - purple at the top, brown in middle and green at bottom.
with a mix of green and brown on the sand.

Any ideas what this could be?

I think the green at the bottom of the tank is cyano.
However the purple stuff at the top of the tank seems a little different and has become more 'furry' in the past couple of days.

Bump

I'm no expert, but maybe a GHA/cyano combo? Do you know what your parameters are at?

On another thread, I read that you're already decreasing your lighting during the day. Def go for that. I had a massive GHA outbreak earlier this year because I failed to remember that the sun comes into my window only 5 months out of the year. (lol) So maybe double-check that no sunlight is also hitting your tank unexpectedly.

Nutrient-wise, you have clowns -- any chance you're overfeeding? Just a new tank and it's going through the uglies? It could work itself out. I'd just manually remove, decrease lights if you can, and adjust feeding IF appropriate.

Thanks, just had the water tested today.

The tank is over a year old now, just having issues since it got a little neglected while I was on vacation but nobody's fault.

Yeap, moved the tank 2 weeks ago but definitely no sunlight hitting the tank its in the darkest spot in the house.
